Find Pine County Released Inmates

Pine County released inmates can leave one custody list and remain under another agency's authority. A Pine County released inmate search must therefore start with the last place that held the person, then follow the release record, court action, or correctional status into the right Minnesota or federal system. Pine County released inmates may have returned to the community, entered supervision, or transferred to a different custodian. To search for Pine County released inmates with care, compare the county jail record with state corrections, court, notification, and federal sources instead of treating a missing roster name as final proof.

Interpreting Pine County Releases

A release answers one basic question: when did a facility stop holding the person? It does not always mean the person went home. Someone may leave Pine County Jail after posting bond, after a charge is dismissed, upon a court order, with credit for time served, or when a local sentence ends. Another person may leave because Minnesota DOC, the U.S. Marshals Service, BOP, another jail, or an immigration custodian takes control. The sheriff's actual release entry and the court order help separate those outcomes. The current jail roster alone cannot do so.

A discharge answers a different question. It can mark the end of correctional supervision or the end of a sentence, not just the move out of a secure building. Supervised release means a state prisoner has left prison but remains under Minnesota DOC authority. Probation is a court-ordered form of community supervision and may occur without a prison term. Parole still applies in limited older or life-sentence settings. A transfer, by contrast, changes the holding agency while custody continues.

  • Bond or conditional release: the person leaves the jail while the court case remains open.
  • Dismissal or court order: the court supplies the legal basis, while jail data supplies the processing time.
  • Time served or sentence expiration: the release follows credit or completion of the custodial term.
  • Supervised release or probation: physical custody ends, but stated rules and agency oversight remain.
  • Transfer or hold: the person leaves one roster and enters another custodian's control.

Note: Work release permits authorized time in the community while jail custody and program rules continue; it is not final discharge.

Pine County Release Record Fields

A useful Pine County Jail request names the record fields instead of asking for a broad “inmate search.” The live roster reports current booking facts, including name, booking number, charges, held-for agency, arrest details, bond, and a headshot. It does not show the actual release time, manner of release, destination, court disposition, projected date, or a clear released status. Those missing facts belong in the sheriff's maintained booking and release data, subject to Minnesota law and any applicable limits.

Each field answers a distinct part of the custody story. Pair identifiers to avoid a false match. Then compare the manner of release and receiving agency with the court case. A destination may reveal that what looked like freedom was a transfer. If the exact physical time matters, the sheriff entry is more useful than a court order alone because court authorization can precede the jail's final processing.

FieldWhat it shows
Full name and birth dateIdentity information used to distinguish people with similar names.
Booking or inmate numberThe local identifier connecting admission, charges, bond, and release.
Booking date and timeWhen Pine County Jail recorded the admission.
Arresting and held-for agenciesWhich agency made the arrest and which authority controlled the hold.
Charges and bond or bailThe listed legal basis for custody and any release-related bond entry.
Actual release date and timeWhen jail staff completed the physical release or transfer.
Manner of releaseBond, court order, dismissal, time served, sentence end, transfer, or another stated basis.
Destination or receiving agencyWhether the person entered the community or another agency's custody, when public.

Request Pine County Release Records

The Pine County Sheriff records-request form allows inspection, which it marks as free to view, or copies, for which a fee may apply. No fixed copy charge, booking-photo rate, record-retention period, or guaranteed response time is published. The form promises a response within a reasonable time. Ask for a cost estimate before copies are made, and do not assume the office can provide a same-day historical record.

Make the request narrow enough to locate maintained data. Include the full name, birth date, approximate booking date or range, and an incident or case number if known. Ask for the booking sheet, booking number, admission time, actual release time, legal basis or manner of release, releasing facility, public destination or receiving agency, bond entry, and booking photograph. Requester contact details are generally optional unless staff need them to clarify the request or deliver copies. Access to private data about oneself requires photo identification, while another person's private data requires signed authorization.

  1. Choose inspection or copies on the sheriff form. Inspection of public data is the no-charge viewing route.
  2. Identify the person and booking as closely as possible. State each release field sought.
  3. Submit the form to Pine County Sheriff Records by mail, email, or fax.
  4. Ask for a fee estimate before copying and allow the office a reasonable response period.
  5. Compare the response with the court action or receiving agency when the record shows a transfer.

Minnesota Law and Pine Records

Minnesota's Government Data Practices Act, Chapter 13, controls access to state and local government data. Minnesota Statutes section 13.03 establishes public access unless another classification applies and permits inspection without charge. Section 13.04 addresses rights of a data subject. Section 13.82 classifies law-enforcement data, including specified arrest and incarcerated-person information. Public status attaches to defined data elements, not to every page of a jail or investigative file.

Some material can remain restricted. That may include juvenile, medical, security, victim, witness, active-investigation, and court-sealed data. Expungement means a judicial record is sealed from ordinary public access, not destroyed. A missing online case may reflect sealing, an older nonelectronic file, a remote-access limit, or a name mismatch. Pine County has no published promise that a booking photo or release listing will stay online. The proper course is to request the specific maintained item and let the responsible office apply the current law.

Release
The end of physical custody at one facility, whether to the community or another authority.
Discharge
The end of supervision or the correctional sentence, which may occur well after physical release.
Time served
Credit that satisfies the ordered custodial term.
Detainer
A request or notice tied to another authority's interest in taking custody.
Expungement
A legal process that seals qualifying court records from ordinary public view.

Note: A public court order may explain why release was authorized, but it may not show when jail processing ended.

Pine County Release Planning

Pine County does not publish a standard release hour, exit door, weekend schedule, or property-return procedure. Those details should be confirmed with the jail for the individual release. Still, local evidence shows that release planning is more than a paper status change. The Minnesota DOC 2025 Jail Communications Data report says Pine's inmate-service fund supported transportation and food-voucher planning. It also identifies indigent winter clothing for release.

These services do not create a promise for each person. Eligibility, stock, timing, and the facts of a release can differ. Anyone arranging pickup should confirm the expected processing window and release point directly with the jail. Clothing, food, or transportation aid may affect the safest plan, especially in cold weather, but the official release record remains the source for the completed time and legal basis.

Getting Home After Pine Release

The same state report gives one precise local fact: Pine reported spending $493.51 on bus tickets in 2025. That figure confirms a real transportation-assistance channel. It does not establish a fixed route, a guaranteed ticket, or a ride for every person released from the jail. Travel help should be checked before a family member or friend relies on it.

Plan around verified facts. Ask whether a ticket or other release aid has been approved, whether the person has suitable clothing, and whether a pickup time is firm or only estimated. Jail processing can follow a court action by an uncertain span. A person transferred to Minnesota DOC, USMS, or another custodian will not leave through the same community-release path. The destination field in the Pine County release record resolves that difference.

Note: Reported bus-ticket spending proves an aid channel existed in 2025, not that a seat or route is guaranteed today.

Correcting Pine County Release Data

A wrong state status or date calls for more than an informal explanation. Minnesota DOC publishes a formal Data Accuracy/Completeness Challenge form for a person who disputes maintained DOC data about them. The process is distinct from asking a supervising agent what a field means. It creates a defined route to challenge accuracy or completeness at the agency that keeps the record.

First capture the exact public-viewer label, the date shown, the six-digit MNDOC ID, and the identity fields. Compare those facts with the court order and any DOC document already held. A challenge should identify the disputed data and the correction sought. Local jail data and court data belong to their own originating offices, so the DOC challenge is not the route for correcting a Pine County booking entry or MCRO court filing.

Search for Pine County Releases

Start with the last likely custodian. The official Pine County Jail page links the current roster, but a released person normally drops from that list. Minnesota VINE can provide a recent county-jail custody event. MCRO can explain bond, dismissal, disposition, sentence, or probation. The sheriff's release record supplies the actual time, manner, and destination. If the record names a state, federal, or immigration transfer, move to that agency's system.

Important: Absence from the current roster does not prove community release. It can also reflect transfer, escape, death, correction, or a different identity spelling.

The Minnesota VINE service is the notification route for Pine County Jail, not for Minnesota DOC prisons. Search by name or identification number, with partial-name searching available, and verify the facility and booking ID before opening a result. A release or not-in-custody event is a recent clue rather than a permanent archive. Registration can use phone, text, email, or app options when offered, with a PIN used to manage and confirm certain alerts. Willow River and other state prisons use Minnesota Haven instead.

Identity checks matter at every stage. Use a full name, aliases when documented, birth date, booking or offender number, and case number. One failed name query is weak evidence. MCRO has exact-name behavior and can omit a pending criminal case from defendant-name results before conviction. VINELink permits partial names. BOP accepts register numbers or names, while ICE expects its recorded identity details.

  1. Check the Pine roster only for current listing, not as a release archive.
  2. Search Minnesota VINE for a recent county-jail custody change, then request the sheriff's historical release data.
  3. Search MCRO by person, Pine County, case number, or citation number and read the bond, disposition, and sentence entries.
  4. Follow any transfer to the Minnesota DOC viewer, BOP locator, federal docket, USMS record channel, or ICE locator.
  5. Use the originating agency's records process when the public search is missing, unclear, or too short-lived.

Pine County Release Roster Limits

Pine County publishes no official 24-hour, 72-hour, 48-hour, or other recent-release feed. Its one live PDF is a current-custody roster. The file has a generated timestamp and showed recent regeneration during research, but the county gives no guaranteed refresh interval. It is overwritten rather than kept as an official online release archive. The roster lacks release date, reason, destination, discharge, and court-disposition fields.

The official jail page shows the interface that is actually available. View the Pine County Jail source before examining the captured page below.

The screenshot documents a link to the current Inmate Roster, not a historical released-person filter. A secondary archive may preserve old snapshots, but a name's disappearance between copies cannot establish release or its cause. For immediate routing, call the jail at 320-629-8400. For durable proof, use the sheriff record and court file. The separate Pine County 24-Hour Release List explains the same-day fallback when no official feed exists.

Minnesota DOC Pine Release Lookup

The Minnesota DOC public viewer covers adults committed to the Commissioner who remain under DOC jurisdiction. It is not a history of every Pine County Jail booking. Search by first and/or last name or by the full six-digit MNDOC Offender ID. Name searches use prefix matching and may return former or AKA names tied to DOC history. Open the detail record and verify the photograph, birth date, ID, offense, county, and court-file number before interpreting status.

An “Under Supervision as of” result confirms release from secure DOC confinement while state authority continues. An “Incarcerated as of” result names the facility. “Anticipated Release Date” is the exact future-date label observed in an active record and is not proof of actual release. Expiration Date is also not the same as the day prison custody ended. Because the viewer includes people still under jurisdiction, a person who finally discharged may no longer appear. DOC Central Records and the court file are then the historical path.

Viewer fieldHow to read it
First and last namePrefix search that can connect former or AKA names to a current DOC name.
Six-digit MNDOC IDThe strongest public-viewer search key when all digits are known.
Current StatusExamples include Incarcerated, Under Supervision, and Wanted Fugitive.
Anticipated Release DateA future calculation that may change and must not be stated as an actual release.
Expiration DateA sentence or jurisdiction endpoint, distinct from release from secure custody.
Supervising agency or agentThe office or person connected to an under-supervision record when displayed.

The Minnesota DOC public viewer displays these search choices and status fields.

Minnesota DOC offender search fields for Pine County released inmates

The captured search form reinforces why an MNDOC result belongs to state custody or supervision, not to a short Pine County jail stay. Newly sentenced people can also take several business days to appear. For status, release-date, or sentence questions, the viewer directs users to the facility or DOC Central Records at CO-Records.DOC@state.mn.us.

Note: A Pine County jail sentence may produce no DOC record because local authorities and the court compute that term.

Pine Court Release Search Gaps

MCRO is the durable legal record after a name leaves the jail roster. Search Person and narrow the court location to Pine County, then inspect Case Details for charges, bond activity, warrants, dispositions, plea, sentencing, jail credit, probation, events, and public documents. If a case or citation number is known, use it. That route is vital because MCRO person search can omit a pending criminal case before conviction.

The Pine County District Court calendar is posted each business day and updated hourly, but it is only a hearing schedule. Confidential and nonremotely accessible matters are omitted. It cannot prove physical release or replace Case Details. If name search fails, try the exact name with and without a middle name, use the supported wildcard or Sounds Like option, search a known number, or contact Pine Court Administration. Pair any release order with the sheriff entry to establish the final jail-processing time.

Pine County Supervision After Release

Pine County Probation handles juvenile cases, adult misdemeanor and gross-misdemeanor probation, and pretrial matters. Minnesota DOC handles adult felony supervision, supervised release, and intensive supervised release. The DOC public viewer can identify an agency and agent for a person shown as Under Supervision. There is no verified public roster covering every probationer, so the court disposition and correct supervising office must be used together.

Probation can follow a local court case without a prison term. Supervised release generally follows a DOC prison term. Neither label supplies the exact Pine County Jail exit time. For a local misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor, or pretrial case, review MCRO and contact county probation for routing. For a felony prison release, use the agency or agent shown in the DOC record or the Pine City Field Services Office. More detail appears on the Pine County Parole & Probation page.

Federal Holds in Pine Releases

Pine County's 2025 board packet records USMS IGA 41-91-0004 for federal prisoners housed at the county jail. A federal pretrial person can therefore leave Pine's roster through a transfer without ever becoming a sentenced BOP inmate. In that case, the federal docket, Pine jail record, and USMS custody-record channel are more useful than a BOP search. The agreement is not proof that Pine County Jail has a direct ICE detention contract.

For a sentenced federal person, the BOP Inmate Locator accepts agency numbers or name and identity filters. A past Release Date with Location shown as RELEASED means BOP custody ended on that date. It does not rule out federal supervision or custody elsewhere. A future date is projected. ICE's locator, when immigration custody is documented, includes current detainees and people released from ICE custody during the prior 60 days. A Pine release to ICE is a transfer, not confirmed community release.

The BOP Inmate Locator search form illustrates the federal search channel.

BOP inmate locator for federal Pine County released inmate records

This image shows why federal register numbers and BOP status belong in a separate workflow. A USMS pretrial hold, an FCI Sandstone sentence, and an ICE transfer can all create different records.

Note: “Not in BOP Custody” does not prove that no other jail, court, supervision office, or agency has authority.

Three Pine County Release Systems

Pine County contains county, state, and federal correctional sites, and each requires its own locator. Pine County Jail is a sheriff-operated local facility. Willow River is a Minnesota DOC minimum-security site used for the Challenge Incarceration Program. FCI Sandstone is a federal BOP institution. A single search across only one system will miss people held by the other two.

Willow River is especially easy to misread. Its first phase is a six-month intensive institutional program for qualifying participants, followed by community-based supervised-release phases that generally last another six months. Leaving the Willow River building may thus begin community supervision rather than final discharge. BOP results at FCI Sandstone can show a past or projected release date. Pine County Jail releases require the sheriff record, VINE, and the court as the facts call for.

  • Pine County Jail: use the sheriff's current roster, Minnesota VINE, release record, and Pine court case.
  • MCF–Willow River: use the Minnesota DOC public viewer, DOC records, Minnesota Haven, and the supervising agent.
  • FCI Sandstone: use the BOP locator and federal records, with attention to later supervision or another custodian.

Pine County Released or Confined

The right source depends on both the facility and the time in the custody sequence. A current roster answers who is listed now. A release entry answers how and when a local booking ended. A state or federal locator covers its own jurisdiction. Court data explains legal events but is not a jail clock. Notification tools report events and can lag or age out.

A Pine County release is best confirmed by two records that answer different parts of the event. The custody record supplies the physical change. The court, supervision, or receiving-agency record supplies the legal or jurisdictional context. When the two conflict, verify with the office that originated the disputed field.
